Date Nights for Us!!!!!!!!!!

While Nana and Auntie Denise were in town, Erik and I planned to go out on TWO dates for our Anniversary. On our first date we even stayed overnight at the Bellagio (had a great view of the water show from our room)!!! We ate dinner at a really nice restaurant called Prime Steakhouse (at the Bellagio). And even stayed for dessert and 3 cups of coffee! We spent 2 1/2 hours there just because we could! We went to listen to a live band afterwards and then retired for the evening. It was a really fun night for both of us.

On our second date, we went out to dinner at a restaurant at the Venetian. It didn't even compare to the restaurant at the Bellagio but it was ok.

Afterwards we went to see "Phantom of the Opera" (at the Venetian). We sat in the golden circle (great seats); it was awesome! I love the plot; I LOVE the music! It's the show to see if you're ever in Vegas.

Happy 2nd Birthday Spencer Thomas!

Here is the cake I made for Spencer's birthday. I also had two great helpers who decorated all of the car and #2 shaped cookies. Thanks for all the help while you guys were here Nana and Auntie Denise! We miss you soooooooooooooooooooo much already.

"Happy birthday to you!"

Make a wish big guy! He blew out one of the candles and I helped him with the other one. I didn't want him to get too close to the cake because I was afraid he would reach out and grab a candle.

We sure had a fun day. Erik did his usual smoked brisket again this year for Spencer's birthday... yummy.

Spencer wanted to eat the #2 on his cake...

...and eat it he did!

Sweet, happy little face!

Papa, come play with me and my new truck!

Spencer was spoiled again this year with so many gifts. Emmy was a great helper when Spencer got tired of opening them. She was really sweet to him and sincerely trying to help him out. Spencer's favorite thing is his matchbox cars and he now has almost 100 of them. I think his Auntie Darcie had a little something to do with that. Darcie- You're coming over every night to help pick them all up off my kitchen floor!!!

Too Much T.P.

Emmy thought it would be fun to use half the roll of toilet paper. Yikes! Good thing I went in to check on her before she tried to flush it down. Now she tells me as she pulling off the toilet paper "You better stop me; I'm taking too much". And as my eyes widen she let's me know that she's just being funny. Silly girl!
Darcie- "Too mucha toilet paper" Huh!

This is us BK (before kids)

It's hard to believe that our 6 yr. anniversary is coming up in a few weeks. It's even harder to remember what it was like when it was just Erik and I. So here are a few pictures of us BK when we were just kids ourselves. I thought I was so grown-up then... little did I know. These are all pictures that were taken in Alaska and Hawaii (on our honeymoon).

King Putt

I thought it would be really fun to take the kids to play miniature golf. It was a pretty cool place... you can't tell by our photos but it was dark in there and everything glowed. Spencer liked playing; he did all 18 holes. But Emmy hit one ball and was done. I really thought she would enjoy it more than Spencer... oh well.

Emmy really just wanted to walk around and check everything out.

Great Grandpa Lang would be proud!

Happy 4th of July!

We started the morning off having a cup of vanilla yogurt with blueberries and strawberries (Spencer's favorite). We always eat something that's red, white, and blue on the 4th of July. We also had panda bear Eggo's. I just took Emmy to see the movie "Kung Fu Panda" so she thought the Eggo's were pretty cool.

After breakfast we played a 4th of July themed game of bingo. It was a game with just pictures so both kids got the hang of it quickly and had so much fun. Here Emmy is trying to teach Spencer what all the pictures are and asking him to find them.

Thanks Auntie Denise for our "bunny ears"!

The kids helped make chocolate covered bananas with sprinkles for snack.

Emmy was more into the chocolate than the banana.

I made up an eagle craft for the kids to do since that's our national bird. Here Spencer is coloring the beak and the feet orange.

Then we did their hand prints for the wings. Looks kinda like the birds just have big hands... funny! This will hang on my refrigerator for a long time!
Then the kids colored pictures of our national tree and flower.

And our last activity was to put all fifty star stickers on the flag; Emmy and Spencer worked together on this one.
We also listened to some patriotic music and watched the fireworks on T.V. Next year we will take the kids to see them in person. Spencer just isn't ready too stay up past 8pm yet. Busy but fun day for all.

Jacobson Activities

I haven't posted many pictures lately because every time we go somewhere we keep forgetting to bring the camera.
We took the kids to a Natural History Museum a couple weeks ago. I'm not a huge fan of museums unless its got art, then I'm interested. Emmy was my buddy at the museum because she likes to go at the same pace I do. We just kinda walk through and don't really feel the need to stop and read the signs. Spencer was Erik's buddy at the museum because they both like to take their time and even go back to the things they find most interesting. Spencer was so excited about everything he saw. It was really cute! We'll definitely be taking the kids back.
We also took the kids to a place called BounceU. The kids had a blast and Erik and I enjoyed it as well. The kids, Erik, and I were all jumping and going down slides for an hour and would have stayed longer but they were closing. Another place we will for sure be going back to!
