I am so proud of Emily; she was the very first one in her class to get her key. This means that she has mastered the blends, digraphs, irregular vowels, consonant blends, and one and two vowel rules! And she's only in kindergarten, I can't wait to see what she learns in first grade!
Spencer really enjoys going to the air shows but Emmy is a little bit of a diva about it and says it's too noisy. As you can see, she's trying to cover her ears with ear protection on.
Yesterday we took the kids to the Children's Book Festival. They had a great time and really enjoyed getting these balloons. They were also given several free books. It was a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon; the weather was beautiful!
This year Emmy wanted to be a princess again, so Nana made her this beautiful dress! Emmy loved it and would have posed for us all night in it if we asked her to!
My Handsome Little Pilot
He enjoyed trying on Erik's old helmet for a few pictures.
He said he was spraying us with his elephant nose!
The kids had a great time trick-or-treating last night out at the base. We stayed for about an hour and a half and the kids buckets were pretty much full by that time. There were a lot of houses handing out candy. The weather was perfect too; it felt like it was at least 70 degrees!
Emily and I took a girls only trip to Michigan for my cousins wedding. The boys stayed home and did some male bonding. They had a great time and kept busy while we were gone; they went to the Bass Pro shop, hiking, and to a drag race.
Emily and Lilli on the carousel at the mall
This picture was taken at the Grand Rapids Public Museum where the wedding was held.
The kids had free carousel rids all night. I lost count how many times Emily rode. "Our Precious Nana"

Emily and Lilli
Like Mother like Daughter... I had mine first! I can't believe we had almost the exact same pair of shoes.
This was a cute area for kids at the museum.
I'd like to say the trip was short and sweet, but this is how our trip ended and it wasn't short nor sweet. My words of advice for future travelers, "NEVER FLY ALLEGIANT AIRLINES!" To make a very, very long story short, our flight was delayed 10 hours and Emily was sick and throwing up. We got home at 3 am but we were on Michigan time so to us it was 6am. Fortunately, she was able to sleep the whole fight home and hardly even complained. I kept telling her how proud I was of her for being such a big girl. It is so good to be home but we sure miss our Nana!
