We're Back

We were on vacation for two weeks and just got back a few days ago. I'll post pictures soon; we've just been so busy unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning, and taking care of a sick kiddo. Spencer and Emmy both got their first ear infections a few days after we got to MN, both had it in the right ear. We had them seen and got them on antibiotics right away. They still wanted to play and have fun but were very irritable and it made me pretty grumpy. They both finished their antibiotics before we flew home and were doing well until yesterday. Spencer told me "Mom, I think I have cold" a couple of times and I could hear him tossing and turning all night. This morning at breakfast he told me that his ear hurt. So we had him seen today by an idiot Dr. on base and he does have another ear infection in his right ear, or the antibiotics he was on never fully cleared it up the first time. So now he's on some different antibiotics and hopefully this time it works. He is so tough about the whole thing and hardly complains at all. We had to wait 40 minutes for the prescription which is ridiculous but Spencer and I got some lunch and had a picnic outside while we waited. What really pisses me off more than almost anything is the dumb rule that active duty in uniform can cut to the front of the line when filling and picking up a prescription. I seriously doubt that very many of them if any are in that big of a hurry to get back to work. And they have no shame in cutting in front of a bunch of sick toddlers and infants who have been waiting a heck of a lot longer then they have. WHATEVER!

Emmy Video

This video was taken when Emmy was about 2 1/2 I think. I took the video with our still camera so it would only record a few seconds at a time. Emmy thought it was really fun to throw her Little People at Daddy so that's what I was trying to record. He's such a good sport.

Baby Spencer Video

Here is an old video of Spencer I came across the other day. It was taken a little over one year ago I think.

Happy Birthday Erik!

Yesterday we celebrated Erik's 32nd B-Day. He was working mids that day so we celebrated in the afternoon before he had to leave.

I made him cupcakes this year rather than a cake.

After the kids went down for their nap, we had a quiet lunch together. I made Chicken Tikka Masala and Jasmine Rice. It's an Indian dish that Erik wanted to try. I wasn't sure how it would taste because I like boring foods and this one had a lot of spices in it that I don't normally like, such as coriander, fresh ginger, garam masala, and fresh cilantro. I was surprised that it was actually really good and Erik liked it too.

Emmy's Pictures

Here are a few pictures that Emmy took with her camera that she got for her b-day. She likes to take pictures of her toes.

Self-portrait

Another self-portrait

This picture she took while going potty... I laughed out loud when I saw this one. She even took the time to add the curtains for this very special picture!

Spencer loves to pose for Emmy... most of the time.

She likes to make us all look silly; here is Spencer pirate.

Here is Mommy in the morning... lovely isn't it.

Then I was asked to tilt my head to the side "because it's cute that way".

Floyd Lamb Park

Last weekend we took the kids to Floyd Lamb Park to feed the ducks and see the peacocks.

We were able to take a few pictures until our camera decided to jump in the pond and go for a swim (Erik was able to fish it out). Thank goodness it wasn't our nice camera. This is the camera Erik and I bought 6 1/2 years ago when we got married. It's a Canon Power Shot 530. It's gone with us on every vacation we've ever been on, and up until Emmy was born was our only camera. It's been dropped a few times, shoved here and there, and finally fell to it's death (so we thought) in the pond. IT STILL WORKS. We've been wanting to buy a new one but just can't bring ourselves to do it since this one still works. Our video camera, on the other hand, is being a brat and refuses to work properly. Funny how that works; the one we want to brake won't and the one we didn't want to brake did. Oh well, what can you do.

Handmade Gifts

Great Grandpa Lang built and painted these cars for Spencer for Christmas.

And he built Emily this swing for her dolls/bears. What special gifts!
