Emily and Spencer

Hugs...

...and Kisses

Emmy loves to have her picture taken so here is an extra one of her. Spencer is a hard one to get a picture of nowadays. Most of the pictures I do get are of his little behind since he's always on the go!

Our Backyard

The landscaper finished our backyard a few weeks ago, so here are a few picts I took today. It's so nice to finally have it all done. The kids love to eat dinner out on the patio.
We have 3 mexican fan palm trees and may put a few plants out there one of these days.

Pony Farm

Erik had Friday off so we took the kids to a pony farm. Here they are brushing Patches.

Spencer liked to ride but not for too long. There were so many other animals to see and toys to play with.

His favorite part of the day was getting to hand feed all the animals. Yuck... it must be a boy thing 'cuz Emmy and I aren't crazy about animals licking our hands. GERMS... so gross.

Emmy rides so well. I really enjoy watching her!

I love taking the kids to ride ponies not just because it's fun, but because they learn something new each time about being responsible and how to care for animals.

Our 5 Senses Themed Day

I thought this would be a fun thing to do with the kiddos. So we started off the morning with a little activity I made. They each got their own paper with different textures stuck on it, such as double sided tape, velcro, and so on. Emmy and I talked about how they all felt and Spencer just tore his apart... I knew that he would and that was completely ok. We then used the tape to pick up Spencer's little cars and he really liked that.

Our next activity was to use small pieces of yarn and stick them on sandpaper to make pictures. Emmy ended up making a fishing pole and Spencer just had fun arranging the yarn just so.

After nap, I got out the water bottles that I had filled with different items and had Emmy guess what was in them by listening as I shook them. Spencer and Emmy had a great time playing with them after they were all revealed.

For "taste" I thought about doing a taste testing game so they could taste things that were bitter, sour, and so on but a 3 yr. old and a 21 mo. old would not think that was fun. So we just made something sweet... dirt cups with gummy worms!

Spencer enjoyed it very much! He got a new shirt to wear after he was done eating, because when he likes something his shirt likes it too!

This was the new toy for the day. Remember these... so fun! I didn't get any pictures of what we did for smell. I just opened up my spice cabinet and let Spencer smell all kinds of spices and a few candles too. Emmy wasn't interested in playing. She thought everything was going to be stinky. I should have had them make some potpourri. Oh well. All in all it was a busy and fun day for everyone.

Happy Mother's Day!

Here is a picture of my iPod that I got for Mother's Day. I'm sure it goes without saying, that I took this picture myself. This is what I will use to listen to all my fav. music while I'm jogging. I have signed myself up to run a half-marathon in Dec. so I'm very excited and anxious already about the big event!
I had a very relaxing Mother's Day. I went to get a pedicure and then spent the rest of the day at home with the kiddos. We did our Mother's Day dinner out the day prior to avoid the crowd and waiting hours for our meal.

This Weeks Photos

We took the kiddos to Mandalay Bay this weekend to see all the fish and sharks. It wasn't as great as I thought it would be; I guess my expectations were set too high.

At dinner Spencer went over to sit by Grandpa to mooch a little dessert!

Darcie- Here's my version of the corn on the cob cupcake. Not picture perfect but they were yummy! I'll save one for you!

Here's our future film maker...Grandpa lets Emmy play with his camera. Spencer looks a bit disgruntled because he wanted a turn too.

Here's my tired little girl after a long hard day of showing off all the cool stuff she can do for the grandparents, Aunt Judy and Uncle Jerald.
